Dreamforce Opens Tuesday With Agentforce ROI Benchmarks That Will Reset Small-Team AI Sales Math
Salesforce's Sept. 15 keynote and Sept. 16 Investor Day will publish the first production benchmarks — including SaaStr's 72% open rate — that small B2B sellers can measure their own AI stack against.
Marc Benioff takes the Dreamforce stage Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. PT, and by Wednesday afternoon’s 1:00 p.m. PT Investor & Analyst Session with COO Miguel Milano and COFO Robin Washington, Salesforce will have converted a set of customer anecdotes into the numbers every B2B seller running AI outbound now has to answer to.
The headline benchmark is already sitting in Salesforce’s Dreamforce media hub, pre-loaded for the keynote: SaaStr’s Agentforce deployment posted “a 72% open rate and more than 10% response rate — the highest across all of SaaStr’s other AI tools,” and Salesforce credits the same workflow on dormant contacts with “an additional $2.7 million in closed revenue and $3.5 million in pipeline.” Forrester puts Agentforce ARR at $1.2 billion for H1 2026. That’s the number Washington’s session, per Salesforce’s own filing, “may include how new innovation and company initiatives may support or update the Company’s financial framework.”
Read past the ARR line and the consumption story gets more interesting for small teams. Salesforce Ben’s Henry Martin has tracked the pricing evolution from Agentforce’s 2024 launch at $2 per conversation, through Flex Credits in May 2025, and into today’s pay-per-resolution posture, “your cost is tied to outcomes, not activity.” Claudeforce, the Anthropic partnership announced Aug. 26, is expected to feature prominently and quietly reframes the entry point for teams already living in Claude.
Two cautions belong next to the benchmarks. Forrester analyst Faram Medhora notes that “vendor-reported AI metrics are designed to demonstrate momentum to investors” and tells buyers to “measure AI against operational results, not adoption statistics.” On the consumption model itself, Forrester’s warning is sharper: “every ungoverned pilot can become next year’s committed floor.” CxToday’s Sophie Wilson adds the evaluation lens sellers keep skipping, that containment “is not the same as resolution.”
For a small-team B2B owner, the working test before Wednesday is narrow. Pull last quarter’s outbound open rates and dormant-pipeline revival numbers. Set them against the 72% ceiling Salesforce will spend two days validating. Whatever the delta, price it against pay-per-resolution math, not per-seat comfort. Context from prior coverage: Salesforce’s $1.5B Agentforce print and the new AI ROI bar and the Claudeforce launch reframing SaaS math.
Dreamforce keynotes rarely change what enterprise software costs. This one will change what small buyers are allowed to accept as normal.
